Night Words

“Night Words: A Midrash on the Holocaust” was first staged at the Neve Shalom Synagogue in 2008, under the presidency of Jojo Nassi, with the participation of Linda Olmertin, a board member of the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum.

This text, which uniquely interprets the trauma of the Holocaust and the experiences of the Jewish people, was written by two Harvard philosophy students in the 1970s.

36 characters in this Aggadah, reflecting the symbolism of an ancient Jewish legend, are dramatized by 36 different characters with sounds and effects. Among them, there are various and colorful characters such as a rabbi, a tailor, a clerk, a teacher, a student, a nurse, a doctor, a clown and so on.

In the following years, the commemoration ceremony continued to take place regularly with similar activities.
